HELLO, YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY a RARE ELVIS COSTELLO VINYL SINGLE 45 RPM 7 " WATCHING THE DETECTIVES BACKED WITH  BLAME IT ON CAIN/ MYSTERY (LIVE VERSIONS). ON STIFF RECORDS IN 1977 CAT # BUY 20 A-1U. THIS SINGLE IS AN IMPORT FROM PORTUGAL. VINYL HAS A BLUE & WHITE STIFF RECORDS LABEL & COMES WITH THE SAME PICTURE SLEEVE AS THE U.K. PRESSING, BUT HAS PORTUGUESE WRITING ON THE BACK: EDITADO E DISTRIBUIDO POR: NOVA COMPANHIA DE MUSICA, LDA. FABRICADO POR: FONO COMPANHIA INDUSTRIAL DE DISCOS LDA. THE OVERALL CONDITION ON THE ITEM IS: EXCELLENT/ VERY GOOD+ SHAPE.  VINYL IS SUPER GLOSSY - LOOKS UNPLAYED  The LABELS ARE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION. THE  PICTURE SLEEVE IS IN VG+.CONDITION . THE LIGHTEST OF BENDING TO THE SLEEVE. SOME LIGHT CREASES NO HEAVY FOLDS NO WRITING SOME WHITE STRESS MARKS AND SOME LIGHT RING WEAR- A LITTLE FADING TO SLEEVE. GOOD LOOKING CORNERS, STILL SHARP WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF WEAR. ITEM COMES STORED IN A POLYBAG SLEEVE. NOTE: PICTURE SLEEVE ACTUALLY LOOKS BETTER THAN THE PHOTO. THE FLASH MAKES THE RINGWEAR LOOK MORE PROMINENT THAN IT REALLY IS.

This single appeared in at least 3 different sleeves: a colour picture cover, a plain Stiff sleeve and the rarer 'telephone directory' cover, which consisted of the entries for the name Stiff out of the London phone book with the Stiff Records number highlighted. U.K. pressings came on a grey & white Stiff label, German pressings had a black & white Stiff label and Belgian pressings came on yellow wax. Etched in the runoff for side A is "I Think You Know What I Mean ". Side B contains "Little Triggers But Big Tears ".
